The NCE project started taking shape in late 93, when Nico R and Bruno L decided to give substance to their musical desires: Axonal Warfare {Celtic Circle Prod. ) was born. At the same time, another group had already reached its musical maturity in Strasbourg (France): Stigma (Daft Records / Ant-Zen). the two bands toured togeather & a friendship ensued despite their sound difference. The band members come from different cultures, and their inpirations are quite diverse: electro-Indus for Laurent, cold-wave for Bruno L, and electro-pop for Nico R. They pursued their projects till 1997, when both bands split. In 2003: Yoann met Nico at a party and they started talking about a possible collaboration. Laurent, was contacted by the duet and he agreed to add his vocals on some tunes. The project developed and they called themselves AW4. Their first public appearance was at the concert in Colmar. Bruno discovered at the concert this promising new electronic project amd decided to join the crew. Neon Cage Experiment was born. The tracks are very diverse, disturbing, operatic , dance, rough, brilliant or dark. The kinematic atmospheres supported by samples and textures reflect the band's vision of the universe. NCE's music conveys strong, contrasring feelings elaborated powered by dynamic programing and punchy rhythems. The first output of NEC was the demo "Specific Gravity". The electronic quartet made their first public appearance on 10/01/2004 in Ordalies Festival (Hall Molodoi Strasbourg). Motivated by positive crowd reactions, the band started working on their official debut Oscillations which was released a few months later on the french label Cortex records. Despite being limited to 500 copies, the album got possitive international reviews. NCE's live gigs at Tech-Noir (Stockholm, Sweden), Heavens Gate fest IV et V (Strasbourg France), Noxious ART fest I (Vesoul France) support-act for Trisomie 21, Geneva, Marseille, Karlsruhe etc. revealed their talent onstage.
