Over the past decade, Sound/visual artist Parker Weston is involved in a variety of acts around Arizona, in a wide range of experimental styles. He has set a task to always strive for something oblique. His music is intense. From wall of noise releases as THE IDE OF EARTH, to the ritual ambient/drone quartet Butoh Sonics, homemade plunderphonic project like the no-fi cutups of Sugar Pills Bone (with Teuthis Galore), the audio cartoon nightmare that is the Ɔrinkles, and analog synth improv as Dummy Rifle. All of this is something that without a doubt is not for the casual listener.
Unlike past PKWST material which ranges from variations on improv collages of cut-up/noisejazz to occasional conceptual or drone, the rhythms in Charming Wax have been pushed to the forefront, offering a cubist industrial release coated with fallout of kaleidoscopic sound collages and intermittent mysterious ambience, all wrapped up in glitchy beats that span IDM, trip-hop, and dub. It is a beast that has spawned out of some dark nether region, as if all the strangeness and auditory musings of Skinny Puppy, Crash Worship, and Muslimgauze were laid bare./In stock:19.11.2023/
